IT IS THE LITTLE THINGS
THAT MATTER!

So often we look for BIG. A big house, a big car. A big change. A big star, whether it be a movie star or a pop star. The bigger the better. We get so caught up with BIG that we tend to forget the rest. But stop to think for a moment. Big began as little. What is more, big would not be big without the little details. In order for something to become big, all the little things must be in place. Therefore, it is the little things that really matter.

This is also the case in Laredo where we are getting closer to the inauguration of wawa wasi Samuelito. In this day care unit it definitely is the little ”things” that matter. As you will know from earlier articles on this blog, we are supporting the Laredo area in Northern Peru. It is an agricultural area with many poor families. The small children from poor and underprivileged families will receive the care and stimulation they need to develop skills and be ready for school in some years. With great hope and expectation we believe that this is the beginning of the end of poverty. Not on a short term basis of course. This is the long term perspective. This is the future generation. This is 20 years from now, but the future begins now, and it begins with the small kids. They Matter! They are important! They are the future!

We still need sponsors for many of the children and we still need to get many of the things that are needed. Toys, diapers, zink powder, furniture size one to three years, etc. It is our prayer that God will nudge people to sponsor a child and that these people will listen to that nudge.

Often times we don't even imagine the difference we can make with something as simple as a sponsorship. We send some money, and usually don't think much of it. You need to see with the eyse of the receivers. You need to see the relief on the faces of these parents once they know that somebody has decided to give their son or daughter a better childhood. Picture the mother with tears in her eyes upon receiving the news. This is how much it matters. This is the magnitude of your support. For these families the difference is immense. It is a heavy burden off their shoulders. It is you making a real change. What may seem a little thing to us can be a tremendous thing for someone else. Something so little can become that big.

It is the little things that matter!
