Until now we have helped two homes. Both are placed in La Victoria, a part of Lima, Peru. They have received help for water heaters, beds, cookers, etc. The Boys' home had a complete remodelling and is now in a good shape.
As you can read on the earlier pages, we have made contact to a new home in Callao. This home has great needs!
However, we would like to finish the work we started in the two homes in La Victoria , before going wholeheartedly to work in the home in Callao.
What is needed now is: To make some small improvements in the girls home and paint the walls. The paint that was used last time is not washable and although they are a clean and caring group, they are 25 girls living in a normal house, so it does get used a lot!
At the boys home we would like to make a hobby room on the 3rd floor, where they can learn some handy works. This allows them to be productive and creative and maybe they can sell some of their arts and crafts for Christmas and so on.
As these two homes in La Victoria are run by the same asociation both girls and boys will be able to take advantage of these facilities. By constructing the 3rd floor room we would be helping around 40 to 45 kids.
We have asked an arquitect and a painter to give us an estimate on the costs. We will be sharing more about these in the following days.
