An ordinary Friday!

Dear friends,

Yesterday was another great day and again we saw God on the move! Our good friend Jim Gilstrap came to pick us up and together with two other ladies we headed off to Chosica; to Casa Hogar de Gina. We visited the house and got to know that the silo they have is completely full. So they have to pump out the water. Luckily, Jim has great experience with these  kinds of things from his work in the mountains, so he quickly came with a solution that will solve the current problem.  That would work well until the authorities in Chosica put in the sewer system......maybe by February! Our purpose for the visit was to pick up an industrial stove that they no longer need and therefore wanted to bless the home in Callao with. Along with the stove, they also donated other things to El rebaño de Jesus, as the home in Callao is called.

Well, we headed back to Lima where we picked up some clothes and shoes that were given by a member of my dance team (See earlier blog). When we arrived at the home in Callao we found out that a water pipe had burst on the second floor bathroom and water had come down through the ceiling into the office on the first floor as well as the shop they have at the front of the house! Luckily some ladies were helping with the cleaning up. But the pipe work need to be done and it costs money !!!

They were more than happy with the cooker as it only needs a thorough cleaning, a new hose (for propane) and it is ready to use. The cooker they have at the moment is for a normal home that uses small pots, this other cooker is industrial and takes 3 large pots at the same time.

Please pray for this home that we may be able to help them with the specific needs they have; starting with teaching the leaders and how to get organized and specially to break down the walls of thoughts that have been built over the years.

Today we will go and buy wall paint for the girls home in La Victoria.  For this job God has provided  help from the youth group of Potential Church- Lima Campus and other good friends. We will be painting Sunday after services, Monday and Tuesday as we have holidays here in Peru! Thank you to the people who have given money toward this project!

As you can see things are happening here in the homes, please pray for all the volunteers involved,  for  protection for our bodies while we are being the hands and feet of Jesus. And please continue to give. There are still so many needs to meet!

May God see your needs and meet them in accordance with His perfect will!

In His service,
Torben & Yurika
